Each transformation is an important part of the process and inevitably leaves its mark on the final object. We want to transport the living energy of the forest floor into an interior space, without “weaving” a photograph. This is a process of abstraction – moving away from literal representation. The photograph of the scene acts like a map. Its formal essence provides the overall structure, which can then be articulated with details by us.
