Primarily originating from the cultures of sub-Saharan Africa, we are pleased to present these one-of-a-kind sculptural objects, ethically traded directly from local communities. We at NOA Living have strong personal connections to these communities, established over many decades. We know our sources and guarantee that each object was acquired legally and that the original seller was compensated fairly. Our hand-picked, curated collection includes ceremonial masks, carved and hand-built effigies, statues, helmets and architectural elements. Many of these objects served protective or curative symbolic functions in the rituals of their respective ethnic group. Often displayed as an item of prestige in the house of an important person or given as a wedding gift, these objects share a common thread. They are created by hand and come from deep traditions. Employing sophisticated formal languages and unique use of color and pattern, these objects are also highly expressive works of art.
