Carved in Light

Middle Eastern Mother-of-Pearl Wedding Chests

Step into a world of radiant craftsmanship with NOA Living’s rare collection of mid-20th-century Mother-of-Pearl Inlay Wedding Chests — treasures gathered across Lebanon and the Levant, meticulously restored in our Beirut atelier. Each is a masterwork of Middle Eastern decorative art, hand-carved from aged walnut and inlaid with luminous mother-of-pearl and bone, reflecting centuries-old traditions from Damascus to the coastal cities of the Eastern Mediterranean.

Historically gifted as part of a bride’s trousseau, these chests are more than functional storage — they are symbols of heritage, prosperity, and eternal unity. Whether adorned with arabesque florals, protective medallions, or mythical lions, every motif carries cultural meaning and artistry.

At NOA Living, we preserve the soul of each piece through careful conservation, ensuring the iridescent inlay catches light as it once did in ceremonial bridal suites. Equally at home in a modern interior or as a statement heirloom, these chests offer collectors, designers, and connoisseurs a profound connection to the beauty, history, and artistry of the Levant.
