“Scala”, a dancing net of sable silk triangles, undulates rhythmically on a deep black background. Like the modern primitive abstraction of a Paul Klee painting, this lively mesh generates an illusion of constant expansion and contraction. The deliberately distorted and elongated forms playfully remind us of childrens’ drawings, a favorite reference of the designer, Fida Nehme.
